This is a short video I made showing the results I have achieved from committing to the P90X workout. Before I started the P90X my weight was about 180lbs, and I had a body fat percentage around 10-12%. Now it is 16 months later and you can see the difference. I do the P90X Ab Ripper X workout exclusively 3 times a week, and I still do the P90X workout, but I do sometimes change things up and mix in other exercises just to keep things different. But make no mistake about it, doing the P90X has changed my workouts forever and even when I do a different workout a lot of the exercises are rooted in the P90X routine.
Now in case some of you are wondering how did this affect my strength? Well, after I completed the first 90 days I went back into the gym and tried my old routine of lifting heavy weights 5 days a week. I had no issues and did not lose any strength! The only difference was that now I was ripped and had a body fat percentage around 7%. Did my max bench press go down a little bit, yea a little bit. Before I was maxing out just over 300 now I am in the upper 200’s, so I might have lost a little bit there, but that is because of me. I have focused more on cardio and being in better overall shape and that has made a small difference on my bench, but who cares? I am in the best shape of my lift, I can run faster, jump higher, my abs have never looked better and my arms are more defined. I have not lost any strength in my triceps, biceps, deltoids and back, I have gained in all those areas and made significant gains with my legs and abs.
So to sum it all up I am a huge fan of the P90X. It has opened my eyes to things like plyometrics and yoga. I would have never tried these things before and I thought they were for people who weren’t serious. I was wrong and the pictures in the video prove that the P90X rocks and can take you places physically that you never thought were possible. Don’t knock it until you try it! (Then you won’t knock it, trust me)
