I am just about done with phase 2 and I am in my second day of my Recovery week. Core Synergistics was scheduled for today and it was the first time I had done the workout since my last recovery week a month ago. I remembered I really liked the workout the last time I did it because it was very unique and after doing it again today I felt the same way.
Even though I enjoy the Core Synergistics routine I do still get frustrated with a couple of exercises in it, the bow to boat rolls are hard for me to transition as smoothly as the participants in the P90X video and that causes my form to not be as crisp. I found when I slowed down a little I was able to keep better form while I was in the boat pose, but I still struggled to roll smoothly from boat to bow. However the exercise is very challenging and I am determined to do it better when I do this routine later in my Recovery week. My favorite exercises in this routine are the Prison Cell Push Ups and the Plank to Chaturanga Run. I really felt both exercises from my chest through my abs and obliques and down into my legs. My heart rate also elevated into the upper 150’s and lower 160’s and I really worked up a great sweat. The great thing about these two exercises is you don’t use any weights and you can do them anywhere, on top of that they are really difficult so it is a real challenge to go the full time on this one. I burned over 500 calories in this routine and I worked up a good sweat I look forward to improving on some of the exercises later this week.
