I finally wore my heart rate monitor and calorie counter during the Plyometrics routine in the P90X program. In less then one hour I burned 727 calories and my heart rate peaked at 162 BPM. I was very happy with those results and I want people to understand why I think this is very significant that I burned over 700 calories in less then one hour.
First of all this is a very intense workout routine, but what I find most interesting is that you can get a great cardio workout and burn a ton of calories in less then one hour without any equipment. All you need is your self and a few feet of space, you could be in your bedroom, garage, living room, hallway, any where that allows you to move a few feet in every direction. On top of all that this Plyometrics routine isn’t boring, like running on a treadmill for a hour or using an elliptical maching is, you will be focused on how hard you are working and moving to the next exercise that you won’t have a chance to get bored. The most significant part of this whole routine is that I believe it gives you a much better workout then running on a treadmill or using an elliptical machine, or riding a stationary bike. You work your body in many different ways and you don’t have to go out and buy an expensive treadmill, elliptical machine, or gym membership. All you need is a small amount of space and that is it, you could do this routine in the majority of places in your house or apartment. Imagine if you are someone who is trying to lose weight but doesn’t want to try the P90X program well even if you did the Plyometrics routine a couple times a week that would be one hell of a cardio workout every time you do it and you will burn a ton of calories in less then an hour. Just doing that and altering your diet a little bit would shed a ton of pounds very quickly, so seriously think about giving it a shot. I am not sure there is a better cardio workout out there.
