Many people often struggle to find a good workout plan when they first start getting back into shape. They look all over the internet and find many different exercises and many different ways of doing them. However, it can sometimes be difficult for those who are just starting out or getting back into the swing of things after a long period of inactivity, to find a good plan that works efficiently well for them. So, what to do?
Well, I’d like to introduce you to the P90X workout plan! The recently popular P90X is a 90 day system comprised of 12 different high intensity exercises that target both muscle growth and weight loss. They have exercises that are very different and intense–things you’d normally not think of doing when getting back into shape!
Of course, the P90X also includes some of the more common weight resistance and cardiovascular exercises some of us are aware of, but, it also includes things like yoga, core synergistics, kenpo, and plyometrics. Now these are some very diverse exercises and not normally something I see many people combining with their weight training or cardio workouts. This practice seems to be the secret behind the P90X.
Plus, it constantly introduces new routines and exercises so you never get used to one routine while also keeping your body from plateauing. It appears that they (P90X’s creators and partners) can tailor the plan to help you achieve personal workout goals are, whether they’re losing weight, bulking up, or just getting more lean and ripped.
Lets take a deeper look at some of these less common exercises. First, Plyometrics is known to be used by athletes to increase speed and overall athletic performance. It’s also a great way to burn calories and remains intensely challenging. Turns out, this can burn as much calories as your cardio workouts–but will definitely be more challenging!
Secondly, Yoga has become very popular as of late, mostly because it will increase flexibility, balance and calm your mind at the same time. It can also burn roughly 200+ calories per hour, depending on the type of yoga you do! Now that’s impressive for something enjoyed by the entire family.
Last, let’s talk about the awesome art of Kenpo! Basically, it’s defined as an intense cardio workout that involves punching and kicking. This doesn’t sound too complex, however it does sound like a fun alternative to running on the treadmill or using an elliptical to burn calories and get your cardio workout complete.
P90X appears to be a proven method for getting back into shape for men and women alike. It seems to gain more and more popularity as time continues, right up til’ now and through 2009!
Judging by the exercises and routines they offe,r I believe the system overall, just works. But I am not alone –there are thousands of people out there who’ve tried the P90X and swear by it. The basic theme I tend to gather from those living testaments is that if you stick to the routines and the plan that the P90X provides (including the nutrition plan they outline) you WILL see results that you desire in 90 days!
