The second day has been completed for me on my P90X challenge. I had to kind of modify the first days workout, chest and back, because my pull-up bar didn’t arrive until later that evening. So I went to the gym and did my chest and back there to stay on course with the P90X. So I won’t comment on that workout until I actually get to follow it the next week. I did however do the Ab Ripper X and let me tell you that was deadly. My old routine had me doing 7-8 sets of about 10-15 reps each with weights and I thought that was tough. I struggled to get through the Ab Ripper X and when I did I was sore before the end of the night, it is two days later and my abs are still feeling it. I had a trim stomach before I started this program so I was a little surprised that this routine pushed me so hard and has me so sore. Needless to say though it is a good thing, I am challenging myself in different ways and hopefully I will achieve great results.
That brings me to the Plyometrics routine. That is the second workout on the P90X program and I have to say I thought it would be tough, because plyometrics aren’t easy but I didn’t know it would work my legs as hard as it did. My calfs, and glutes are a little sore today. This routine has a lot of jumping and moving around and I was definitely struggling to get through it. I actually had to take a couple extra breaks then the routine provides but I made it through. I was sweating bullets when I was done and that is a great thing. That is the goal to push myself to new limits, to see if the P90X can push me in more challenging ways. Well so far it is kicking my butt and I am only two days into the routine.
Today I do the shoulders and arms routine for the first time and ab ripper X again. I tend to think my arms are my strongest muscle and I look forward to seeing if this routine can really push me. My old routine I really hit my arms hard so it will be interesting to see.
