Everyone knows the various health benefits of exercising regularly and being in shape. Lower risk for disease, decreased body fat, increased strength, the list goes on and on…but did you know that regular exercise can improve your sex life? It’s true!

A large part of having sex is self esteem. How you feel about your body and your overall attractiveness has a direct relationship with your sexual performance. It is a fact that people who exercise have an improved sexual body image over those who do not. Even more convincing is that people who exercise regularly rated their overall sexual appearance much higher then those who don’t and the more one works out in a week the higher they rate their overall appearance.

So, the conclusion here is that the better you feel about yourself the more likely you are to want to have sex and the more you workout the better you will feel about yourself. You will feel more comfortable about your body and be much more open with your partner which will lead to better sex.

Not only will you feel better and more confident but regular exercise will lead to a better sexual performance. Of course the confidence you will have from being in better shape will lead to better performance in many parts of your life, including sex. But, since you are in better shape you will also have better blood flow and circulation. The better circulation and blood flow will lead to a better performance in the bedroom and make it easier for you to get everything working, if you know what I mean.

There was also a study done that showed that people who exercised had more sex then those who didn’t. The reason for this was unknown but it seems obvious to me. People who exercise are usually in better shape then those who don’t and also tend to be a bit more attractive to the opposite sex. You combine those two, more attractive and more desirable, you are probably going to get a more sexually active person. It doesn’t matter if you are married or not, the healthier you are and the more in shape you are, the more desirable you will be.

One other benefit of sex is that it can slow the aging process. A study done by Dr. David Weeks, which included 3500 people showed that people who had regular sex looked and appeared much younger then their chronological age. People who have sex more often tend to be happier and that is supposedly one of the keys to looking and feeling younger. So it would make sense that sex, an activity that makes you happy, would help slow aging.

Not only can regular exercise and a healthy diet improve your sex life it also can cure Erectile Dysfunction. A Research Team at The Center for Obesity Management at Second University in Naples, Italy did a study on 110 obese men ages 35-55 who had no other diseases that could possibly be responsible for their ED. What they found is that 1/3 of the men who exercised 2 hours a week and lost weight regained their sexual function in 2 years.

Now, in case that isn’t enough to convince you Harvard went ahead and did a study on 31,000 men between the ages 55-90 and found that those who regularly exercised had about a 10 year delay in erectile dysfunction compared to those who were less active. I don’t know about you but that is pretty clear to me, exercise and eat healthy and you should keep ED away for as long as possible.

So–exercising will improve your sex life and your overall health. You’re going to feel better about your physical appearance and you will feel a lot more comfortable in your birthday suit. The more comfortable you feel the more likely you are to be more open and relaxed with your partner and that will definitely improve your sex life.
